Homemade Apple Pie

Mmm, Apple pie. Homemade apple pie!

I'll spare you the long speech and get right to the point...the recipe. Only I'm not sharing my pie crust recipe, that's a secret. But I'm willing to give you the recipe for the filling.
Ingredients:
5 Granny Smith Apples
1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
1 tsp fresh lemon juice (optional)
1 tbsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of nutmeg
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tbsp of butter
1 tbsp of lemon juice
Since I'm not giving you my top secret crust recipe, you can purchase Pillsbury's ready made pie crust. Unless you have your own recipe that is. I use it myself when I'm not in the mood to make crust from scratch. It's pretty good. Peel the skin off of the apples, slice them and put them in a bowl. Add sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix until apple slices are covered. This is optional, but in my opinion, it's better...let the apples marinate over night.
Get your pie crust ready and put it in your dish. In a separate bowl, melt butter then whisk in cornstarch. Pour the mixture into the bowl with your apples and mix it together. Put your Apple pie filling into your dish and decorate your pie crust to your liking.
After placing the crust over your pie filling, brush your pie crust with egg wash (egg wash is just egg and a little water), sprinkle a little cinnamon and sugar on top and bake on 350° until golden brown.
Enjoy!
